Models Northern Ireland
ALISON CLARKE, Owner, ACA Models
Alison Clarke of ACA Models is ‘the’ name in Northern Ireland associated within the fashion industry.
The name is the brand.
Alison, who won Miss Northern Ireland 1982 as Alison Smyth and was runner up to Miss UK in the same year, started out as a model herself whilst working in the Bank.
In 1990 she single handedly opened the now longest running modelling and promotion agency in Northern Ireland after starting organising Miss Northern Ireland in 1987. She has changed the lives of not only the young winners in all those years but the 1000s of other entrants who have been personally assisted, guided and promoted by Alison.
Those early days were at the peak of the Northern Ireland troubles and despite this she continued to grow the business and promote young models , brands and fashions throughout Northern Ireland travelling all over the province producing shows and providing models for many national campaigns.
Alison Campbell then , now Alison Clarke and wife of Open Golf Champion, Darren Clarke, OBE, was the person to launch the careers of many young men and women who have all started their careers under the auspices of her agency’s wings. She has advised, trained, inspired and given work to many including TV Presenters Zoe Salmon and Models Gayle Williamson, Lucy Evangelista, Shauna Gunn all of whom became Miss UK
She fought hard to get Miss Northern Ireland direct entry into Miss World so that Northern Ireland could have a voice and a face in the largest ever TV show with a worldwide audience of over 2 billion viewers so since NI entry in 2000 we have already had 1 top 20 finalist, Leanne McDowell, two top 16 finalists, Miss World Talent, Catherine Jennings and Miss World Sport, Lori Moore, two Miss World Beach Beauty semi finalists and a Mr World Semi Finalist, something not many countries have ever achieved
Alison also finds time to assist the NI Hospice and the Children’s Hospice in their fundraising efforts through many publicity campaigns using Miss Northern Ireland to raise the Hospice funds by 25%.
She has two sons , Stuart and Philip and two step sons , Tyrone and Conor.
